Our team thoroughly inspected the teak to identify every area requiring repair, refinishing, or additional attention. We then hand-sanded the wood to remove failing coatings and properly prepare the surface for the new finish.

Hand sanding allowed us to reach intricate details, tight corners, and narrow spaces within the handrails and trim where power tools cannot provide the same level of precision.

After sanding, we meticulously cleaned every surface, removing dust, contaminants, and residue that could interfere with coating adhesion. This preparation created the foundation for a durable, high-quality finish.

Phase 2: Building a Premium Awlwood Finish

With the wood properly prepared, we applied the complete Awlwood coating system to maximize both appearance and long-term protection.

Moisture management was equally important. Before every application, we confirmed the surfaces were completely dry and free of dew. Weather forecasts were monitored daily to ensure each coat had adequate curing time before evening moisture arrived.

Wind and humidity also demanded close attention. Excessive wind can carry dust, pollen, and debris into freshly applied coatings. By carefully managing these environmental conditions, we maintained the ideal setting for a premium finish.
